We had some incredible weather on Berry Head on March 9th: 91mph Northerly winds, blasting up over the quarry and smashing into the Guardhouse! It was windy enough to have difficulty standing up, to be blown sideways when you jumped in the air, and for at least a hundred roof tiles to come flying off the roof. Sadly we had to close the cafe for the day as there was too much danger from someone to be hit by a 70mph slate roof tile (that is assuming anyone was brave enough to even make it to the cafe).
The roof and some damage to our refuse compound were promptly fixed thanks to the hard work of the Torbay Coast and Countryside Trust!
