The Guardhouse Café, Berry Head

We are looking for a chef to join our kitchen team

The chef role involves working in our busy open-plan kitchen, preparing and cooking our quality café menu at high speed and under pressure. All our chefs are involved in preparing our seasonal specials & other home-made dishes as well as breakfast and lunch services.

Starting before Easter

Part OR Full time, 3-5 days / 20-35 hours per week to suit the individual

Day-time shifts (occasional evenings in summer). You will need to work at least one day each weekend.

Pay Rate £12.50 – £14.00 per hour depending on ability and experience (plus tips, holiday pay, pension).

Travel to Berry Head is required – please note that public transport options are limited

The perfect applicant

You should have experience of working in a busy, pressurised kitchen; a passion for tasty food; the ability to operate calmly & quickly while under pressure; an eager attitude towards hard work.

You must be available to travel to Berry Head, and to work flexible shifts including weekends.

You must be friendly and outgoing: your role will include plenty of interaction with customers. Delivering incredible & friendly customer service is the top priority for all our staff, regardless of their role.
