How to reach us
You can find us within the Northern fort of Berry Head nature reserve, on the southern tip of Torbay (just a mile from Brixham). Postcode TQ5 9AW.
Parking
There is a large car park just outside the two forts on Berry Head: TQ5 9AP. At busy times, an additional field is opened for cars. To protect the headland, it is not possible to drive beyond the car park. The Guardhouse Cafe and the Northern Fort can be accessed via a tarmac road from the car park – it is about a 300m walk.
The car park is now Pay and Display. You can currently buy tickets with old coin-only machines, or we recommend paying via RingGo which allows you to start & stop your parking via your phone, so you only pay for the time you need.

Disabled Access
Our previous landlord Torbay Coast and Countryside Trust didn’t allow vehicles onto the site, but provided mobility scooters for disabled visitors. We are waiting to hear what Swisco will do in this regard.
Currently, disabled access is restricted to walking or wheeling along the 300m fairly level path from the car park.
The cafe has step-free access and a disabled toilet.

Update: the roadworks are gone now.
Gillard Rd is closed today (apparently reopening some time Friday 2nd) due to emergency works by South West Water. We went to investigate and found this gigantic hole in the road and swarms of people working on it...
There is a diversion in place via Berry Head Rd. However the 'closure' is between Mudstone Lane and Centry Road, so when leaving Berry Head a better routing is to drive the normal route then turn into Centry Rd.
We did notice several cars and vans drove in both directions right past the closure without difficulty... ...
